West Palm Beach Dominoes Game Turns Violent, Man Charged with Aggravated Battery After Allegedly Striking Victim with Pot

West Palm Beach Battery SuspectPolice recently arrested a man who allegedly committed an assault during a game of dominoes in West Palm Beach, Florida.

According to authorities, the 71-year-old suspect struck the 57-year-old victim in the face with a cooking pot. Police believe that both individuals were drinking alcohol prior to the physical altercation.

The violent incident stemmed from a verbal dispute over a game of dominoes. The two friends had been playing the game when one of them reportedly made an illegal move. This prompted the men to begin yelling at each other.

At some point during the argument, the suspect allegedly grabbed a pot and hit the victim across the head.

The victim was treated for his injuries, which resulted in heavy bleeding from his head.

When police spoke with the suspect, he reportedly said that he was acting in self-defense. According to the suspect, he hit the victim before the victim could attack him.

After investigating the incident, police placed the suspect under arrest. He has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

If the suspect is convicted on the aggravated battery charges, he faces significant criminal penalties. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 784.045, anyone who uses a deadly weapon while attacking another person can be charged with a second degree felony.

After being arrested and processed, the suspect was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail. He later secured his release from the jail by posting $5,000 bond.
