Police recently arrested a West Palm Beach FL man accused of using a handgun to assault another person.
According to law enforcement, the suspect brandished a handgun and struck the victim several times in the head. The altercation stemmed from a fight between the suspect’s brother and the victim.
Both fights reportedly occurred outside a Sam’s Food Market located at North Tamarind Avenue and 13th Street in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The victim sustained undisclosed injuries in the second attack. Afterwards, he was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach FL, where he received medical treatment for his injuries.
Police officers were called to the scene a short time after the fight. Investigators were able to get video surveillance footage taken from cameras in the store parking lot. The surveillance footage allegedly shows the suspect hitting the victim in the head with the handgun.
After reportedly striking the victim, the suspect allegedly pointed the gun at another person.
Police eventually identified the suspect and placed him under arrest.
According to authorities, the suspect has prior felony convictions on his record. An arrest report indicated that he spent 60 days in jail in 2013 for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.
