Boynton Beach Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at Local Residence
Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a residence in Boynton Beach, Florida.
The shooting occurred at a home located on Seacrest Boulevard, which is between Gateway Boulevard and Hypoluxo Road in Boynton Beach, FL.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they found one man who had been shot and killed. Police also saw another man who was critically injured; he was rushed by helicopter to Delray Medical Center so that he could be treated for a gunshot wound.
During the subsequent investigation, Boynton Beach FL police closed down southbound traffic on Seacrest Boulevard.
Although the investigation is active and ongoing, police have yet to identify any suspects.
If investigators are eventually able to identify and apprehend a suspect, it is likely that criminal charges for murder would follow. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 782.04, a murder conviction could result in the death penalty or a lifetime term of incarceration in state prison.

There have been 59 reported homicides in Palm Beach County in 2015. So far this summer, 16 people have been killed as a result of gun violence in Palm Beach County, Florida. Two of the fatalities occurred in Boynton Beach. Out of the 16 total killings in the county, just three have resulted in arrests of suspects.
