According to authorities, the 20-year-old suspect helped her boyfriend steal a handgun and a laptop computer from a home in Lake Worth, Florida.
Police believe that the suspect and her boyfriend devised a scheme to break into the home of an acquaintance and steal a .40-caliber handgun and a laptop.
The two suspects allegedly showed up at the victim’s house and claimed that they were having car trouble. The male suspect, who is reportedly a convicted felon, then had the female suspect ask if she could use the victim’s bathroom. Once inside the home, the female suspect allegedly unlocked a back door.
According to an arrest report, the suspects returned to the residence at a later time and took the items. It is believed that the suspects waited until the victim left home for work.
Police began an investigation, but it wasn’t until sometime later that police caught a break in the case. According to authorities, the female suspect told a friend about the theft. When the male suspect learned of this, he allegedly used a gun to threaten the friend.
The male suspect was arrested a short time later. He was charged with a number of criminal offenses, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, armed burglary, and grand theft.
The male suspect was eventually released from custody after posting a $65,000 bond.
It took another four months before police finally arrested and charged the female suspect in connection with the alleged theft. She has now been formally charged with burglary and grand theft.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was released from the facility after posting a $3,000 bond.
