According to law enforcement, the 50-year-old suspect was lying in bed at his home on Southwest 28th Avenue in Boynton Beach FL while his young child ran outside.
Boynton Beach Florida police received a call about an unsupervised child at the residence. When they arrived, the officers reportedly found a nearly naked child alone and outside the house. The child was wearing only underwear when police found him.
Police indicated that the home had “deplorable conditions.” The residence allegedly smelled of alcohol and animal waste. Moreover, one of the bathrooms was reportedly flooded with water, while the kitchen had several large bottles of vodka
Police officers went inside the residence and allegedly found the suspect unconscious in his bed. Authorities believe that the suspect was heavily intoxicated at the time.
When a police officer woke up the suspect, he reportedly denied any knowledge of the child roaming around unsupervised. He then allegedly denied that the child had been outside at all, saying, “I don’t believe you!”
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with one count of child neglect.
After being arrested, the suspect was taken to Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach so that he could receive medical clearance. Sometime later, the suspect was cleared, formally charged, and processed, then taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He was being held at the jail on a $3,000 bail amount.
