Police Searching for Woman Who Allegedly Used Stolen Credit Cards at Walmart in Royal Palm Beach, FL

Credit Card Theft Suspect in Royal Palm BeachPolice are looking for a woman accused of using stolen credit cards to make purchases at a Walmart store in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect made in excess of $1,700 worth of fraudulent charges at the Walmart store, which is located on Belvedere Road and State Road 7 in Royal Palm Beach, FL. The fraudulent purchases were made in early March.

Police began an investigation after the victim contacted local law enforcement and notified them of the stolen credit cards. The victim told police that the credit cards went missing while she was shopping at the Michaels Arts & Crafts Store; someone reportedly stole the wallet from her purse.

Not long after the victim’s wallet went missing, she learned that several unauthorized transactions had been charged to her credit cards at Walmart. So she contacted her credit card company and alerted the police.

If a suspect is identified and apprehended in the case, they could be subject to significant criminal penalties. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 817.60, credit card theft is typically classified as a first degree misdemeanor. A conviction for credit card theft could result in a term of imprisonment of 1 year, as well as fines of up to $1,000.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the theft incident. Anyone who has information about the suspect or the credit card fraud is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 800-458-TIPS. Tips can be left anonymously.
