According to law enforcement, the shooting occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the Mobilaire park located on Mobilaire Drive in West Palm Beach, just south of Okeechobee Boulevard and west of Haverhill Road.
Local police received a report of shots being fired at a residence at the trailer park. Emergency rescue units responded a short time later and found two people suffering from shooting-related injuries.
The shooting victims were treated at the scene and then transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where they received further medical treatment.
According to officials, one of the suspects sustained serious injuries as a result of the shooting; the other suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the case. At this time, police have not identified a suspect or a motive for the shootings.
If investigators are eventually able to identify and apprehend a suspect, it is likely that serious criminal charges would follow. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 784.021, anyone who uses a deadly weapon such as a firearm to commit an assault could face third degree aggravated assault charges. A conviction on this felony charge could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in Florida State Prison.
