Police Arrest Man Accused of Committing Robbery at Knifepoint Outside West Palm Beach Convenience Store

West Palm Beach Armed Robbery SuspectPolice recently arrested a West Palm Beach FL man accused of committing an armed robbery at knifepoint.

According to officials, the suspect approached the 22-year-old victim outside the One Stop Shop located on South Military Trail in West Palm Beach, Florida. The victim was scratching off lottery tickets when he met the suspect.

The suspect reportedly introduced himself to the victim and asked if the victim could give him a cigarette. The two men then chatted for approximately 20 minutes before the victim told the suspect that he would buy him a beer at the store.

Afterwards, the men began to drink their beers outside the convenience store, but the store owner told them that they were not allowed to stand outside holding open containers of alcohol. As a result, the suspect and the victim went behind the store to finish drinking their beers.

At some point, a woman rode past on a bicycle. She allegedly dropped a folded pocket knife onto the ground. The suspect then allegedly picked up the knife and tried to stab the victim in the arm.

According to the victim, the suspect grabbed his wallet and fled the scene on foot.

Palm Beach Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene to investigate. A short time later, deputies found the suspect and the woman on the bike at a residence located in the 4300 block of Edward Road. The residence is near the convenience store where the incident occurred.

When police attempted to arrest the suspect, he reportedly fled. During pursuit, police allegedly saw the suspect toss the victim’s wallet onto the ground.

Police eventually caught up to the suspect and placed him under arrest.

The suspect has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities said that the suspect later admitted to committing the theft.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He was initially being held at the facility without bail.

Meanwhile, the woman who was with the suspect denied any knowledge of the robbery.
