Westgate is an unincorporated community in West Palm Beach, FL. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at a home located on the 1700 block of Seminole Boulevard, just south of Okeechobee Boulevard and west of North Congress Avenue.
On the day of the shooting, police received a call about gunshots in the area. When police arrived at the residence, they found the victims inside.
One person was killed in the shooting, while another person was seriously injured. The woman who was injured was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she received treatment for a gunshot wound. Thankfully, she is expected to survive.
At this time, police have not yet released the names of the victims.
Authorities do not believe that the shooting was a random act. According to investigators, a married couple was eating lunch inside the residence when someone entered the home and shot them.
According to a neighbor, the shooting might be connected to an armed carjacking that occurred several months ago. However, police have not confirmed this theory.
The Palm Beach sheriff’s office recently released a composite sketch of the suspect.
