Man Accused of Slashing Tires in Lake Worth FL, Charged with Vandalism, Aggravated Assault

Lake Worth Florida Vandalism SuspectJupierPolice recently arrested a man who allegedly slashed car tires in the south end of Lake Worth, Florida.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the 24-year-old suspect vandalized a number of cars during the early morning hours. He was caught when a witness reportedly spotted him in the act of slashing a car’s tires.

The acts of vandalism allegedly occurred near Howard Park, in the area of Jackson Street and Washington Avenue in Lake Worth, FL.

The witness who allegedly saw the suspect committing the vandalism went to police a short time later and identified the suspect. According to the witness, the suspect confronted him and said, “I’m the real killer.” Additionally, the suspect allegedly held a knife during the confrontation.

Police were able to use the witness’ description to locate the suspect. Law enforcement then placed the suspect under arrest without further incident.

The suspect has been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.

Although the suspect is with vandalism for allegedly slashing the car tires, the most serious criminal charge he faces stems from his allegedly brandishing a knife during the altercation with the witness. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 784.021, anyone who commits an assault with a deadly weapon can potentially be charged with third degree aggravated assault. A conviction on this charge carries a sentence of up to 5 years in Florida State Prison, with a minimum term of imprisonment of 3 years.

After being arrested and processed, the suspect was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail.
