Lake Worth FL Man Accused of Committing Armed Robbery at Local Home Depot

Lake Worth Armed Robbery SuspectA Lake Worth Florida man faces armed robbery charges for allegedly holding up a local Home Depot store.

According to officials, the 28-year-old suspect stole nearly $500 while committing a robbery at the Home Depot located on South Jog Road in Lake Worth, FL.

The suspect is said to have entered the store and approached the customer service counter. The suspect reportedly brandished a knife when he instructed the cashier to hand over cash from the register. The store employee reportedly gave the suspect $482, which was placed into a bag.

Once he had the money, the suspect allegedly left the store and fled the scene.

Palm Beach Sheriff’s deputies later obtained surveillance camera footage of the suspect committing the theft. Law enforcement released those images to the public in the hopes that someone would come forward with information on the suspect.

Investigators received a number of anonymous tips from callers who identified the suspect as the man who committed the robbery.

Police then spoke with the suspect’s father. The suspect reportedly turned himself in to authorities after his father identified the suspect as the culprit in the armed robbery.

The suspect faces a number of theft-related charges, including armed robbery and grand theft. A conviction for first degree armed robbery could result in life imprisonment, as set forth by Florida Statutes Section 812.13.

After being placed under arrest, the suspect was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He is being held at the jail on a $30,000 bail amount.
