Police in Boynton Beach FL are searching for a man accused of committing burglaries at two local businesses in the past month.
According to authorities, the suspect stole a desktop computer, two iPhones, and a wallet from an office at 2240 West Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach, Florida. The suspect allegedly hid the stolen items under his shirt as he walked out of the building.
Witnesses said that the suspect was wearing a fluorescent yellow shirt, turquoise pants with multi-colored flowers, a red stocking cap, and dark shoes at the time of the alleged theft. Witnesses also said that the suspect had long dreadlocks.
The suspect allegedly struck again just one week later. According to police, surveillance video footage shows the suspect burglarizing a doctor’s office at 1325 South Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach, FL. The suspect reportedly took an employee’s cellphone before walking out the front door.
At the time of the second incident, the suspect was reportedly wearing a tight white zippered sweatshirt and pajama pants.
If the suspect is eventually identified, he could face severe criminal penalties. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 810.2, burglary is classified as a second degree felony when the offender burglarizes an occupied structure. A conviction for second degree burglary can result in a sentence of up to 15 years in Florida State Prison.
The Boynton Beach Police Department is actively investigating both alleged thefts. Police have asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
